WOOD DESCRIPTION:

  • Cherry heartwood can range from red to reddish brown and darkens when exposed to light over time. The sapwood is creamy white. Although the difference between the color of heartwood and sapwood is clearly visible, this difference can be reduced by evaporation. Cherry wood has a uniform, straight, and rough pattern with a smooth texture. Small brown pith flecks, pin knots, and sap pockets or streaks are natural characteristics of cherries but vary by region.
